Board of Directors

At the annual meeting in November, the members elect a board of directors of five to nine members for two-year terms. The directors, in turn, elect the president and vice-president for two-year terms, and appoint the secretary and treasurer, to serve at the pleasure of the board. The board may also appoint an executive director. Officers and directors receive no compensation. They attend to the business of the corporation between meetings of the general membership, which are held at least twice each year. Committees have been set up to deal with maintenance, horticulture, and fundraising. All members are encouraged to participate actively in the affairs of the VHCC.
